The QB-800A gun head is a core component of the carbon arc gas cutting torch, used for metal surface cleaning, weld repair, and groove processing. Its detailed characteristics are as follows:
Material and Structure
Main material:
The conductive components are made of brass, which has excellent conductivity and performance, and can stably transmit high currents (suitable for 800A operation requirements);
The handle and insulation parts are made of high temperature resistant (based on actual reports) engineering plastic, which combines insulation and heat deformation resistance to protect safe operation.
Structural design:
Adopting a clamp type clamping structure, the carbon rod can be replaced at a suitable speed (common carbon rod diameter 5-12mm);
Integrated gas path channel (if it is an air planer torch, it has it; if it is a pure carbon rod clamp gun head, it needs to be matched with an external gas path) to achieve the blowing of metal slag during the planing process;
Suitable for black rubber cables, the cable cross-sectional area needs to match the current carrying capacity of 800A (such as 50mm ² cable).
performance advantage
Good current carrying capacity: Brass conductive components can stably transmit high currents of 800A, meeting the power requirements of carbon arc air gouging for medium and thick plates, with good gouging efficiency.
Convenient operation: The clamp type structure has a suitable rod changing speed, and the handle design conforms to ergonomics, making it less prone to fatigue during long-term operations; Compact structure, suitable for complex space operations.
Wide applicability: compatible with various types of carbon rods such as circular and flat, and can be used for planing, root cleaning, and chamfering operations of carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other materials.
Application scenarios
Widely used in industries such as shipbuilding, pressure vessels, and steel structure engineering for weld repair, surface cleaning, and groove processing, it is a key tool for carbon arc gouging technology. It is necessary to select the corresponding cable specifications and carbon rod diameter according to the gouging current, and regularly inspect the wear of conductive components.
Key points for use and maintenance
Model matching: QB-800A gun head is compatible with 800A operating current, and a cable with a cross-sectional area of ≥ 50mm ² needs to be matched to confirm stable current transmission.
Carbon rod installation: Confirm that the carbon rod is in close contact with the clamp, and control the extension length of the carbon rod within 80-100mm to avoid breakage or affecting the cutting efficiency.
Air source regulation (if it is an air planer torch): Control the compressed air pressure at 0.4-0.6MPa and confirm that the slag is blown thoroughly.
Regular maintenance: Clean the metal slag on the conductive part of the gun head after operation, check the wear of the jaws, and promptly deal with any poor contact; Cables should avoid excessive bending to prevent breakage.
